Join us for a 12-week session of beginning Spanish classes. (There will be no class on Thanksgiving.) Note: Students who wish to sign up for Class 2 or Class 3 must participate in the fall session in order to sign up for the winter and spring sessions.
Class 1 (Parent/child) (3:00-3:30) is an aural/oral (listening/speaking) class for ages 4-5, as well as 6-year-olds who are not yet strong readers. Songs and movements will be important components of the class.
Class 2 (Continuing) (3:45-4:30) is for ages 7-10 (2nd-4th grade level). Students will learn listening and speaking skills, as well as reading and writing. This class will be highly interactive, incorporating songs, movement and games. We will be reviewing topics covered last year and will be learning new vocabulary relating to food, the house, and more. There will be short weekly homework assignments. The cost includes a new workbook. (The cost for materials in the winter and spring sessions will be lower.) This class is only open to students who completed the Beginning class last year.
Class 3 (Beginning) (2:00-2:45) is for ages 6-8 (1st-3rd grade level). Students will learn listening and speaking skills, as well as reading and writing. This class will be highly interactive, incorporating songs, movement and games. We will be learning vocabulary relating to numbers, greetings, colors, and more. There will be short weekly homework assignments. Students should be reading and writing at a strong first grade level or higher. The cost for materials includes a three-ring binder and a workbook. (The cost for materials in the winter and spring sessions will be lower.)
