Suggestions for Books and Other Resources

The following lists of resources have all appeared in the WeAre Home Educator's newsletter at one time or another. Most of these lists are compilations of suggestions made at our Parent Gatherings. The lists cover the following subjects:

• Poetry (I know this is also literature, but there were enough resources to warrant a separate heading)

• World History (including Ancient Civilizations)

For those of you who enjoy videos, you can also Teach with Movies. This site offers a topical index of, as well as over 180 guides to, the movies they recommend. If you've been wondering whether a particular movie would be appropriate for children, this site might help you decide. You can search by topics such as literature, religions, music, sports and games and more in the Cultural Heritage Index.
